Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science – Sacred Heart University

Professional Accreditations:
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) – National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA)
Certified Health Fitness Specialist (HFS) – American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)

I earned my M.S. in Exercise Science and Nutrition from Sacred Heart University in 2011. I conducted original research and successfully defended my Master’s thesis on “The Acute Effects of Self-Myofascial Release on Lower Extremity Plyometric Performance”. Prior to teaming up with the OGSWC staff, I spent 10 years working in allied health facilities, bearing a multitude of job responsibilities ranging from physical therapy clinics, cancer exercise rehabilitation, and personal training. These experiences have helped hone hands-on and social skills that enable me to work with a broad spectrum of clientele. The various job responsibilities have sharpened both my interpersonal and hands on skills and have expanded my knowledge in orthopedics, and human performance. I was introduced to this field after sustaining numerous injuries throughout a 15 year motocross career. Having been a competitive athlete, and debilitated on numerous occasions, I am well aware of the dedication, commitment and patience it takes to return to play and achieve goals. I believe in training hard and incorporating fundamental principles of strength training and conditioning. I also believe that an essential understanding of physiological adaptations and responses to exercise must be considered in the progression of my clients and athletes, alike.

Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training- Dominican College

Professional Accreditations:

Certified Personal Trainer- National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
National Athletic Trainers’ Association- Athletic Training Certification (ATC)

Growing up I was always a multi-sport athlete participating in ice hockey, baseball, and
lacrosse. I was fortunate enough to continue playing ice hockey through college where I attended
Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) for two years and was awarded Second Team All-
American my sophomore year. I then went on to continue my education and hockey career at the
University of Maryland Baltimore County where I helped my team reach two national tournaments.
Playing a college I dealt with many injuries that could have hindered my participation in the sport. This
caused me to find my passion for strength training and the rehabilitation of orthopedic injuries. I believe
that in order to live a healthy life style and prevent injuries from occurring you must dedicate your time
to strength training and I enjoy being someone that can help others achieve that goal.

Prior to becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist, she supervised a recreation department for children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. During the years of working with a mobility-limited population, she became fascinated with the human body and decided to study Massage Therapy.

After graduating from Finger Lakes School of Massage, she became licensed and began working in a chiropractor’s office, an upscale spa, and then partnering with private gyms. She specializes in Deep Tissue and performs many other modalities such as Swedish, Sports massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Reflexology and Pre-natal.

Massage has endless benefits such as, improving ROM, relaxes overused muscles, reduces spasms and increases circulation. Massage is tremendously beneficial after a workout, relaxing the muscles and tendons facilitating the speed of muscle recovery, increasing flexibility and range of motion allowing your body to release the tension caused by physical and mental stress.

Jayne is very passionate about bodywork and the wonderful effects it has on our bodies, and looks forward to designing a personal and customized session to benefit your needs!
